dash lights

    does anyone know how to make the dash lights work maverick 1976 250 I6 2 door my buddy hooked up a new stereo and managed to make the dashlights stop working any suggestions

    Sounds like he hacked into the dimmer circuit. Check from the stereo to the instrument cluster for a loose wire. Did he need to do that for the stereo backlight or dimmer feature? Ask your buddy to fix it again, or take it to a car audio professional next time, big chains like Best Buy will remove the unit for free if you ever sell the car. Comes in handy, believe me.

    loose wires

    there are two a brown on that operates the dimmer for the original am stereo and then a blue one with what looks like a plug and I dont know if he can fix it I guess I could get the repair manual or come out the pocket to pay a mechanic to take a look I oulled the instrument cluster and I still couldnt identify where the blue wire should go know of any diagrams that I can find online

    I dunno..I can't figure out how to get my dash apart to tell you myself, and I can't find much posted online. I'd get a Chilton's guide off ebay or something, if you plan on keeping the car forlife, it will pay off.

    Maybe he blew a fuse.
