I just got to believe that a tank that will allow easier dual exhaust will sell more than an OEM tank. I believe 250 of those will sell a helluva lot quicker than an OEM tank.
See the OEM tank has engineering specs already,, and a sample being sent,, I for one had a Dual exhaust system on my 71 and had absolutely no prob installing it,, Half of the people are needing stock and half want a redesigned,,, No one has yet shown me this special tank nor the drawings that will be needed,, I am extremely busy with the other 92 parts I am making,, and designing tooling for. Now the Best I was able to come up with, is to get a major company interested in this OEM tank.. That is out of just needing it and hearing others wish they had it... It took me 2 days to get this far.... How long has every one been looking and wishing for a replacement Tank,,,,,? Alot of people have already stepped up to help,,, Help us Help you,, No complaining,,,!! Find solutions,,,!! Lets do this together and keep the cost down,, then we all Win,,, Thank you Joe
I think stock is the best way to go ... My exhaust shop had no issues installing dual exhaust on my car either ...
I don't believe anybody is complaining as much as asking. 99% of us have no idea what's involved in the process. I'm just a dumb 'ol country boy and in my mind, it seems easy enough to whack an inch or two off a measurement before making the modl/dye/whatever. No complaining; just curious.
I don't think anyone was complaining either - just trying to help you sell 250 tanks. As I said in the 1st sentence of my post - THANK YOU for all your efforts.
Ant no such thing as a dumb country boy,,,, We all came from the hill at one time or another,,, Open land before Cities exsisted,,
Four words - Je-thro Bo-dine. I know. I know. It was an act on a TV, but I've met some Jethro(s), Gomer(s), Ernest P. Worrell(s), and Ray.:evilsmile
The only tanks that present real dual exhaust problems are the ones that are already being repopped - the 19 gallon 76/77 model tanks. I have plenty of room for dual 1" exhaust on my car. That's why for now I have turndowns in front of the axle, and previously had side-exit in front of the rear tires. Fortunately I have a couple of early tanks to choose from for the Grabber.
I wasn't complaining either! I was just thinking of your 250 unit goal, but was/am ignorant to the process you are going through. Personally I wouldn't buy a stock tank, however you have mentioned about 10 other things I would buy when you start pumping them out. If you have some pull with manufacturers, maybe you could get an exhaust company to produce a 2 1/2", mandrel bent, full dual exhaust system for us. 20+ companies make bolt in exhaust systems for Mustangs, Camaros, Buicks, etc... No one makes a system for Mavs. If there was, say a Flowmaster American Thunder system, that fit a Mav with stock tank... Then I would be in the market for a stock tank! Just ideas... When I type on your posts, I am NOT complaining. I am just as elated at the news as everyone else. My suggestions are just brainstorming ideas, no matter how good or bad, to help you test the water. Thanks again! Dave
You can count me in. I will be in need of a new tank and I am interested in a quality reproduction. A good bolt on exhaust system would be great also.
