I got the same air cleaner until I decided what high-dolllar one I want. I think it looks fine with my Maverick valve covers, which are like the finned ones you posted. If you get a flat base air cleaner you will clear the distributor fine, that drop-base one may hit without a carb spacer, depending on the height of your intake. My biggest clearance issue with the drop base air cleaner was the choke and fuel line fitting on my Edelbrock carb. It fit ok with a carb spacer, but never sat very flat. I think I ended up using an air cleaner spacer with it if I remember right.. I'm not using the drop base anymore.

I also bent the crap out of my cooler lines. I just got them close enough I could get my tranny cooler lines on, I'm bypassing the internal cooler in the rad.

Cool, I learn something everyday...That explains why I cannot get a good seal over the fuel inlet now that I have AN fittings on there. I have about a 1/16" gap. I have lived with it for the past 200 miles or so, but now I know I just need to swap air cleaners.

One thing I meant to say was I switched to a 90* banjo fuel inlet on the carb to help the fuel line clear the air cleaner. Did your AN fitting screw into the carb and replace the inlet? You could get a 90* AN fitting.

    I don't need to correct it, I don't think:hmmm:

The air cleaner drops about 1" and sits on the portion where the blue and red connections are. I just need to put on a different air cleaner housing.

Just turn the 90 so it points down at a 45* angle

Check out my motorpic in the gallery, Maverick valve covers and a Ford Racing Products air cleaner, just a idea for you to consider.
