sorry i havent posted anything in awhile, ive been busy working and saving money and going back to school, i have an update. i am still getting that 1972 maverick, the woman dropped the price to 1500 instead of 2000 so i only have a couple more paychecks to go.. but i have a question, ive been looking online and asking questions but no one really seems to answer the question totally:hmmm:, and thats, what makes a grabber a grabber? i know it is probably a stupid question but ive been curious for a long time, THANKS!

You must really have a serious update to have posted it THREE TIMES:D

Good to hear things are still moving forward.

An extra letter in the VIN makes it a grabber:huh:

The package was different depending on the year.

actually the grabber is a decor package. contrary to what alot of people believe most grabbers had 6 cylinder motors in them. 71 and 72 had the hoods with the scoops in them. all others had the stripes on the flat hoods. and some side stripes. trunk had a small spoiler. also some blackout features. the way to tell an actual grabber is from the vin number, if it has a 93 in it it is a grabber. if it is a 91 it is a regular mav. hope this helps.:)

other than the VIN# , the person that posted above is correct that the Grabber was a decor option. I am sitting here looking at the advertisement for the 1970 Maverick and Maverick Grabber.

With the Grabber you got standard the 200 inline six Body side stripes White Sidewals, 14 inch wheels and trim rings, Decklid Spoiler, Dual racing mirrors Three spoke woodtone steering wheel and a choice of 5 Hot grabber colors, is exactly what the add says. But that is for the 1970 Grabber. The

In 71 and 72 you got the infamous "grabber hood" and the steering wheel could be any of three differents steering wheels, then in 73 and up it was really just the stripes, the mirrors, the spoiler and that was about it. The other options like the bucket seats and the steel style wheels and such were just options that you could order seperately and you could order them on any Maverick.

You would look good in a Maverick. Hope you get it. Grabber or not, I think most people try to get the 302 engine.

Scott, you know you've never been harassed.

BTW, quit being a hog and let stalled cold front move this way. How are you the boxed wine getting along?

What do you mean that you get harassed?
