cutting shock towers for 351w

    i'm putting a 351w in my 69 1/2 maverick, i need to know where and what to cut in the shock towers? the welding and fab shop would like exact measurements and pics if at all possible. any help would be greatly appreciated, any coments and pics can be sent to my email. b_welsch@hotmail.com thanks

    my friend has a 71 mav with a 351w and headers with no alterations to the shock towers.

    Yeah, it's been done many times without mods to the engine bay...
    I have done 351 Clevelands without shaving...

    However, if you ask us that have done it, we will tell you that you are better off shaving the towers first if you have the inclination.

    What kind of headers did you use on the 351C withouht shaving the towers? I am curious about this. I had just decided to do a Boss 302, but I would rather have the 351C. You can do strokers up to 408 with those now...:thumbs2:

    1974 351c, C4auto, 4:10 9 inch rear.
    I have a 351c in mine with stock manifolds and it fits, but there are 4 plugs that you cant even think about changing.. i cant eve get the wires off and on.. Im getting ready to cut my shock towers next week..:dance:

    I used Moroso valve covers.
    Looked cool as heck, but I couldn't even take my valve covers off with the engine in!
    Nevermind getting to plugs or wires...
