oil pump and distribitor on a 250

Is the oil pump connected to distribitor of a 250? If so, is there a drive shaft thats the same on the 250 as a 302? I want to pre lube this 250 before I fire it. I have a V8 oil pump primer(tool that goes in the elec. drill) for a 302. This straight 6 is a whole new game for me. Thanks Russ

 

I do believe it is the same size as the 302.

 

5/16" hex; should be the same.

if the shaft is the same does it turn in reverse as the 302???...frank...

 

The rotor turns clockwise.

 

Scott I got the rear broke loose, the brakes were stuck on. I had to get a new starter, Then I got 12" of snow to deal with It might be after x-mas when I can get it into the garage, and really start to work on it. I'll keep you posted. Russ

 

nuthin like the feeling of starting that used and unknown engine for the first time. uhhhh you know what to do with the cell phone when you fire it up!

 

definatly keep us posted on your progress, have you tryed turning the motor by hand yet? i know in the past there has been a few topics on getting a motor running that has sat.. let me know if you need anything else for the i6, i have other parts for them, and i know where there is a few..
