What is the top dollar any of us are willing to pay for a maverick?

I look around and see mavs for $100 and some for $5,000 plus. I think we are pleasantly spoiled by the low cost of our automotive obsession. Especially when you look at some "big 3" muscle cars going for over a crazy $50-100,000 plus for some "rare" examples. I think given the opportunity to drive a nice equally "rare" and unique Grabber with $6-7K invested in it compared to driving a new low buck $12-14K "sport compact" would be a no brainer. Mavericks Rule!

I paid $2700 for an almost all original Comet GT. Thats more than I bought my Sprint for new. Considering I do all my own work, I cant ever imagine buying a turn key car so it would be hard to answer your question. Now, show me a car and I'll tell you what I think it is worth which would probably be higher than most people would say.

I think many of us will put tons of our hard earned money into a Maverick, in fact many times what we paid for the original car but the initial outlay tends to be low. I know I might shell out 7 grand for a motor in a car I paid $150 for? But hesitant to put out 3-4K for a basic driver. Psychology man, nothing but psychology. It's worth whatever we are willing to pay huh.
