I have installed new a/c components on a 76 maverick, but I am using the orignial a/c evaporator. Would any one know which is the high side and low side of the evaporator? Both tubes coming out of the firewall are the same size. It makes kind of difficult to determine which way to attach the expansion valve.

    Thanks,
    Mark

The evaporator only sees low side pressure, but there is a right way and wrong way to hook it up. I can check which one it is when I get home, unless someone else answers first.

The round flat "hat" on the top of the expansion valve goes up...there is usually a plastic insulated cap that goes on it.

Alright I checked, and I was wrong. Apperently, our mavs dont care which one you use, just pick one and go with it, theres no manifold or distribution block.
