has any one ever thought of putting in a 69.5 dash and steering wheel in a later car so they could have the on dash ignition because i want to do it to my 73 comet it would be one of the only comets with an on dash ignition

It would be possible, I imagine. You'd have to change the steering column to the 69.5 because you would be eliminating the column ignition along with the anti-theft interlock for the ignition and shift lever.

hey bartikus,i'm almost done doing the same thing.got a 70 shell, and gutted,i mean totally stripped out my old 69.5 and put everything into the 70 shell, even took the headliner.the interior of my 69.5 was showroom, and a flintstone mobile underneath.
easy transition to do.any questions just ask.good luck...chuck.

The dashes are the same. the ignition switch sits in a pod, mounted on the package tray.

I can get my hands on an ignition switch from a 69.5 but I don't have a key! Also a 69.5 Steering column without the key and has an automatic shifter.
