    Hi All
Many years ago as a teenager (1979) I owned a 1970 Maverick. I loved that car but being a teenager, I loved to go fast and came out on the loosing end in a match with a tree. I always wanted to get another one but life got in the way. I have been lurking around this site for the past couple of years and have been keeping my eye out for a decent Mav.
I finally came across one that is far from being a rust bucket and I am going to see it this week and and if it looks half as good as the pics, I will buy it.
It is a restored Maverick and basically it looks good to go. The guy wants $9,500 for it and I thought I would ask for some opinions before I went to see it. Here are the pro's & cons.

Pro's: It is a genuine 1971 Grabber with papers to verify.
100% rust free and completely restored.
Runs great and has only 60,120 miles on it.

Con's: It has drums in the front and the ignition is not electronic.

Personally I don't think the cons outweigh the pro's but then again I may have already fallen in love with this car. It does have a 200 six in it but given the reason for the demise of my last Maverick, well I am not too worried about speed...lol.
i plan on going over this car with a fine tooth comb (and a refrigerator magnet...lol)
I would appreciate some feedback since everyone seems to be very knowledgeable. please be forewarned that if I buy this car I will be asking "dumb questions" on a regular basis.

    Thanks
    Dan

That is one good looking car! The price sounds a little high to me...but then again my "Price Guage" seems to be stuck in the eighties on just about everything.
I know the other folks on here will chime in and let you know if that price is really ok or not.

Either way if the car is as good as it appears to be and if its worth it to you ,Thats all that matters.

Swapping to Front disc brakes is noth very expensive, not hard to do, and I HIGHLY recommend it.

Buy it! You couldn't build a car like that for that price.

definitely looks like a nice car. would like to see some pics of the interior and trunk. is it a true grabber? the vin # would tell. it would have to have a 93 in it. if it has a 91 it was made to look like a grabber. it is a nice looker and you would put a lot more into it to get it that nice.:Welcome:

It's a nice clean car, but not worth any $9500. It's a 6-cylinder with drum brakes. I'd say maybe $4500 at the most...

Drum brakes on all four corners is rough.

Grabbers are strictly an appearance package and could be ordered with any engine.

I need someone to verify this, but I believe more GRABBERS came with 6-bangers than v-8's.

That car was on ebay at least twice that I remember. We may have talked about it here. The Grabber stripes look incorrect if that sorta thing matters to you. Seems a little high for a 6 cyl car....but only YOU can decide that.

    $4500?

It would cost that much for the paint alone.
