Hello guys ,got a question, i just removed the front bench seat out of the 69 maverick and started on the back seat ,i lifted the back part of the seat off the two hooks but i cant get the seat part out . Is it bolted through the floor under the rear axle or does it slid out ,im trying to strip the seats and carpet to put sub-frame connectors in and maybe a 6 point cage . help please Jimmy2gates

You have to remove the lower cushion first. push it rearward and up and it will unhook from the front retainers. Then just pull it out. Then you will see, at the bottom, the 2 bolts that hold the back cushion on.

OK, So how 'bout the other way?

So I'm trying to put the rear seat back in. Seems simple enough to reverse the procedure, but it just is not going. Is there some trick to installing the rear seat???

"it is a trick the first time :yup: "

I just have to figure out the trick!

The mechanics seem simple enough - I can get the bar on the bottom of the seat under the top part of the hook; I just cannot seem to get the bar to slide far enough back to drop it down in able for it to slide forward under the forward portion of the hook.

Can't seem to find anything behind the seat stopping it from sliding all the way back either - even removed the back rest to see if that would help (it didn't).
    :hmmm:
