I am planing on buying a 1971 Maverick in a couple of days. My wife was wondering if it has A/C. I hate to ask such a newbie question but I can't seem to find it anywhere online.

Now I get it,, I got espn but not esp. Yes,, you have to look, if it has a compressor on it, then it has a/c. Also look for vents in the dash, or an underdash unit with vents in it, above the trans hump. Other things to look for are a heater control that indicates a/c, valves that look like tire valves under the hood, and a funny looking radiator in front of the actual radiator.

Howdy &:Welcome: Yes, the ' 71 Maverick did come with A/C as a option. It will also have a A/C vent smack dab in the middle of the dash.

welcome to the board. i would imagine if it had a/c they would have said so since it is a selling point. only way to be sure would be to call the seller or go see it in person.:)

He didnt get the, I have talked to the person selling it, I got the vin number and the body tag info and it is a true grabber.
It is a bench seat, 302 auto, mild cam and headers. he also is throwing in
a set of LDO buckets and rear seat area. If it doesnt sale today I will be going over there with the trailer on thursday with cash and I might just bring it back.

It has had new window seals, vinyl top and head liner. the hood is rusted under the lip and has been repaired. the drivers floor is rusted through.
he says the cowls are good, it has rained and he says the floors are dry. the previous owner had left the drivers window down for some time and he suppects that was the cause. he also says it has the normal pop rust in the rear quarters.

Well the guy that looked at it yesterday offered 1800 for it and the guy said no. SO HERE GOES A ROAD TRIP.

He also has the maverick that the LDO seats came out of, he said he would sale me the entire car too, but I can't, trailer too short.

He is throwing in the LDO seats with the purchase, and I will get there early in the morning and If the Grabber is good enough to buy, then I will be stripping the rest of the blue interior out of the other car. He says it is a 6cyl auto but, with it being a bucket It might have a floor shift colum and shifter:bouncy: .

5 hour drive......5 hours of stripping;) .....and 5+hours driving back....
then I get to do it all over again on friday........gonna be a long couple of days.

Well I didn't save it. I left at 4:30am this morning and got there about 10:30. I guess he thought that since I was traveling 5 hours that I would just fork over 2k and take the car. Man what a wreck....

the grill was off a 73 or 74

drivers floor was gone about 6inch on the floor and firewall

drivers rear finder lip was rusted out and hidden with some kind of chrome

passenger rear fender well had a large amount of kittyhair glass in the bottom and bondo

the hood was gone, the whole front-end was rotted and held together by some crap welded, all shapes of metal.

The only good thing about the car was the glass was good, the 3 peice spoiler, motor and the ldo seats.

    The search continues
