Does anybody on here run flowmaster super 40's or delta flow 40's? Which sounds better? I currently have regular 40's on my car and I love the sound, but they are just too loud while cruising at any speed. If I drive for more tham 30 minutes I get a headache. We also have a 2005 Mustang GT with the super 40's on it and it sounds great, but I don't know if it is aggressive enough for the Maverick. Any suggestions?

I just put on Super 44s last week. They are very aggressive sounding, but still not as loud as my fuel pump. See thread http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=34044 for some sound clips before I installed them. They are just snapped on to the header collector reducer in the sound clips. They are a little more quiet now installed with dumps at the axle, but still sound like what you hear on here.

Interestingly, on the road cruising, they are fairly quiet inside the car. Not sure what everyone outside is hearing...:D

where do they exit? I have delta flow 40's but they exit in front of the back tires on the side, and they are pretty loud, especially on a long trip.

In the clips, it is just 2 NIB flows snapped onto the header, no other pipe and not welded.

Now I have turndowns just before the axle. So it is a bit quieter now. I can still easily hear the fuel pump over the exhaust noise. I plan on lining the inside of the rear quarter panels with jute to absorb some of that noise, and maybe mount the fuel pump onto the frame rather than to the sheet metal...it just hums and resonates throughout the car mounted there.

One good thing about the Super 44s is that they are only 4" thick rather than 5" like all the other Flowmaster mufflers. So they don't show under the car unless you get down and look for them.

The guys that installed it did a very good job of keeping everything tucked way up so my pipes, flows, and subframe connectors are all even, nothing hangs down below them. Also left a nice wide and parallel space to access my drive shaft.

My pipes come straight out the back, that makes them quiter, right?

The wife is buying batteries for our tape recorder...next time I take the car for a drive, I will make more sound clips.

It will have to stop raining first. Not sure when (or IF) that will happen. I don't like driving this car in the rain because of the spooled rear end and exposed primer and bondo in various ares.
