I bet it sounds ratty, like a pulpwood truck, untill you get the duals hooked up. Good thing it's only three miles to the muffler shop. :yup:

Just had the exhaust hooked back up. Sounds like a different car! No more tick tick exhaust leaks or sewing machine noises ... and for some reason the exhaust is louder and meaner than with the headers.

Sounds great Dan, I always thought the headers would make it have louder sound vs the manifolds.

What about the performance? Now you have a totally stock Maverick, sort of, well, never mind. Wish I could see it at the Roundup. It looks great Dan.

I wonder if you had a stock set of manifolds Extrude Honed, what that would do?? They used to run ads in the Mustang rags about running abrasive puddy throught intakes to smooth then out inside?? Maybe this could be the new trend???

Doesn't feel any different ... what did I lose .. maybe 10 RWHP? Only a dyno would know for sure. We ended up using the factory Y pipe and cutting off the Y ... the bends around the z-bar would have been a real pain for him to duplicate so he didn't mess with it - it's like 0 clearance. The rest of the system is 2.25 inches with an H-PIPE. He charged me $25 to connect the downpipes off the manifolds to the existing H-PIPE and duals.

The only thing you lost was top-end (and perhaps a little upper mid-range). The low-end and midrange power really shouldn't be affected...
