Guys I wanted to keep everyone up to date on our 25th Annual Car Show in Columbia MO. I hope you all can make the trip. I have many great things I am working on and I think I will have some announcements soon. Check the web for information and announcements. www.centralmomustang.org Also I would like to add some Maverick images so if anyone has some I can use and is willing that would be great. I hope everyone can make it to Columbia in June, itwill be a great show. Jim Reese
Was disappointed to be the only Maverick that showed up Sunday. However, it did pay off for me in the end. Was a pretty good show, not huge, but still some real nice cars there and Mark and I had a great time. Some pics from the show
Matt Thanks for showing up and participating in the show. I have ideas for next year already. It would be nice to have some more Mavs. I hope the "plain jane" referred to in one of the replies was not my car as I did not win this any awards this year but do have a DUI and headers installed. I had fun and I think everyone I spoke with did also, it was hot however. I have some images on our web site and am adding more. Also all the evnts we plan to attend coming up. The closest to KC is most likely the Jamestown event over Labor Day Weekend. I hope to post more information soon. Jim Reese, president Central Missouri Mustang and Ford Club
Jim, I am sorry for the plain-jane remark , didn't mean it in a negative way (I know it sounded like it). I just meant that it wasn't a Mach 1 or GT or Boss and didn't have any stripes on it. I thought the motor was pretty cool with the DUI distributor and Clifford valve cover. I didn't know they made a dizzy for a six. (See attached pic of Jim's motor) Now for the rest of the story on being the only Mav in the show. I hadn't looked at the class list ahead of time, so I didn't know what class to tell them I wanted, so they put me in 67-up Ford powered with five really nice Torinos. When I finally got around to voting, I noticed they had added a class just for the Torinos, so I was the only car left in the 67-up class, so I knew I was a shoe-in for a plaque. So I know it don't really mean anything to anybody else, but I can honestly say I have a 1st place award now. Next appearance for my show-winner is the Gathering in Kentucky July 19th.
Matt I did not take offense, I was only saying that unfortunately I did not win an award this year. I like the fact that my car is unique. I got the DUI from Classicinlines in AZ. He has just come out with an aluminum head with separate intake. It more or less has 302ci size valves, springs and is capable of nearly 300hp. It was the first year I ran the event and made most decisions myself. I did not expect any Torinos/Fairlanes, but after so many I had a plan B to make a class for them. I thought perhaps the Mav and the Falcons should have been togethers but I am really happy with the turnout and really happy you came out. I hope you decide to come out to jamestown and plan on beginning your car and lot smore Mavs to next years show. Talk to you soon Jim Reese
