The back reservoir(closest the firewall) in the m/c, does it go to the back or front brakes?

The large reservoir is for the disc. As pads wear the caliper piston stays out to keep the pads against the rotor. The brake fluid takes up the space. Thats way the reservoir is bigger. To hold enough fluid to compensate for pad wear. Thats also why your not supposed to add fluid to the system under normal conditions. When you replace the pads, you push the piston back into the caliper, and the excess fluid goes back into the reservoir to bring the level back up to the full mark.

Well, I ask because the rear reservoir is empty and I dont have any pedal feel.front res. is full. and I've got drums all around. I know I've got a leak somewhere since the m/c is new.Trying to figure it out without wasting more brake fluid.

pop off the rear drums first(the easiest thing first) and look for wetness. maybe a bad wheel cyl? check all your connections for wetness. you'll find that leak. best of luck.
