I have a 1973 Mercury Comet. It's supposed to be a rare version, but I'm not really sure if it is. Its a 2 door, straight 6, automatic, candy-apple red paint with white-top. I still have all four oringal hubcaps, in good condition, and the orinigal tag. Its only had 2 owners before me, but its been sitting in a garage for about 13 years. The only real problem with it is that a piston is cracked. I only know of 1 other person who owns this type of car, but his wasn't all original. Does anybody know any more information about this car, such as net worth or other owners? Anything would be useful. Thanks!
Even the "rare" versions of these cars are relatively common. They broke all sorts of sales records when they were new... Even dethroned the mighty Mustang in sales volume. "Rare"? No. You won't be getting anywhere near Barrett-Jackson sums for the car. Welcome though! If you want to repair it to drive/cruise, or restore it, then you are in the right place. Lots of good folks here! Dave
it's hard to tell what the are worth without pictures. 2 drs usually go for more, as do v-8s, a/c, buckets, gt options, etc. welcome to the board.
