Srange thing happened tonigh. After about mins of running my water temp gauge went to 290*. I KNO the motor was not that hot. Sound like a ground issue?
Unless your thermostat is stuck or in backwards. Did you put Teflon tape on the sender? that can cause grounding problems. Do your other gauges work ok? If not it could be the voltage regulator under the dash for gauge supply voltage.
I have seen too much teflon tape on a number of jobs. I like to use the liquid teflon.......much better
Thermostat is fine, problem just started. No teflon tape used (no leaks either) Not the timng, ven way off tming would not let a car get that hot that fast. I truly believe that the gauge is reading inaccuratley that is why I was assuming a bad ground or somethng. I will pull the wiring today and check. Thanks for the ideas. Scott
I just had something like that happen to me,, was an air pocket in the cooling system, I bled it off and now is fine. Dan
agree......we put fluid in PINKY II and after firing she almost instantly shot to the moon..... was just a little air pocket.
