Well, the 347 stroker is in from coast high performance.

i got the non oil burning kit, with the 5.315 rods instead of 5.400
came with forged probe pistons with longer skirts to take up the distance the 5.400 would have originally done.

got the edelbrock performer rpm cam, intake, and gasp....

yes, the aluminum heads w/ 2.02 valves.. for my baby.

    oh, shes a beaut.

after the break in, i'll let you guys know what she runs at the track and the dyno.

the 2400 stall and detroit locker should help things a bit as well...

ooo... not to mention the edelbrock performer rpm NOS setup. hehehehe

the kit by itself was only $ 949.00 and i didn't have to pay sales tax.
it's the street fighter version with 5.315 rods, and offset wrist pins w/ longer piston skirts to cut down on cylinder wall slide load.

but of course i ended up getting

the street fighter kit (non oil burning) $949.00
main girdle - to help keep the bottom end together $188.00
melling HV oil pump w/ billet drive shaft $ 70 ?
    windage tray $75
    28 oz SFI flexplate $90 ?
    28 oz harmonic balancer $90?
and i opted for the custom balancing so it can spin higher and not beat itself up. $ 170 for labor

in total it came to i think 1600 bucks, give or take a few.

completely worth it, and the kit comes with ARP bolts and forged pistons no matter the application.

now throw in the edelbrock rpm cam $179.00
    edelbrock rpm intake $ 159.00
    edelbrock rpm heads w/ 2.02 intake $ 1,099.00
edelbrock timing chain $ around 50 bucks.
milodon main caps w/ arp bolts 239.00?

    and a few other goodies.

NOTE: EDIT: edelbrock and down came from summit racing, everything else came from coast high performance

I did the same thing with the 393 I built from Coast. If I could do it over again, I would just go with the regular oil pump. I also went with the 1.90 intakes on the rpm heads. With a 4.00 inch bore, I think valve shrouding negates any real gains for the 2.02s, and the 1.90 have pretty much the same flow specs. That's why they canted the valves when they designed clevelands almost 40 years ago.

Also, thet RPM cam really surprised me. It's a lotta cam. Get ready for 10-12 inches of vacuum at idle.

I predict that you will be very happy with your build. It will run really strong.

Never heard of a "Non-Oil Burning" kit. What does that mean? Is there an oil burning kit so you use oil? 2 stroke kit? Please explain.

The wrist pin with teh 5.4 rods is in the oil ring area causing it to burn more oil. The shorter rods move the wrist pin below the oil ring area.
