My buddy Roger and I bought a '74 Maverick from Chandler that needed a little TLC. At one yard we found a '75 4-door and a '70 2-door (drop in tank). We got the hood w/ mint trim, passenger fender, sport grille, rear valence, and a nice rear bumper for $150. We went back and noticed the '75 was a disc car, so we snagged the entire spindle/rotor/caliper assembly , two tan armrests, a nice column collar, two tan kickpanels, and two mint door panel medallions for $70. Still need a driver's fender and headlight trim piece, but the car is coming together.
Good job Bruce,I had tried to call Roger and left messages on his # but with no return call. I am glad to hear the car is coming along great
Thanks, trying to decide what to do with these medallions. John: His phone must be acting up, because he hasn't gotten your messages, yet. Streetrod77:it was an automatic car, sorry.
I am going to a junkyard tomorrow :bananaman really only like my 2nd time ever. Not looking for maverick stuff, but if I find some I might pick some things
Since your all talking about junkyard scores, I made a good one today. I found a real nice set of the deep 14" trim rings for $40! Not bad, I'd say. They're in great shape, too!!
Also, at the same boneyard there is a puke green 75 2-door Maverick for sale. The interior isn't too bad, minor rips in the seats. Has a 250 with the power brakes. Grill is shot, passenger side fender has a football sized dent in it. Doors are pretty good, chrome is good, except for the bumpers, lot of surface rust. Lot of potential, I think. Guy says he wants $1500 for it. Anyone interested?
No. I havent been in a while. Saturday I will be making the rounds though... 9th st. pick-a-part and all three ecology's.:bananaman :bananaman :bananaman .
