No it was the name of the show we attended.

When we (the people from this board) gather for a show, cruise in ,or just a "meet and eat"
anyone who is into Mavericks and Comets is welcome to join.

Some are Members of the MCCI,(Maverick Comet Club International) The MCG (Maverick Comet Group) or both...or neither . :)

So the cars at the Ford show, other than the Mavericks/Comets just showed up? There was a 61 Galaxie there.

There were probably more '64 and older Galaxies at this show than any other car model. The orange '61 had a 427 SOHC with a C-6. Saaaaaweeeeeet.

I'm a huge old race... stock, super stock then Pro Stock FAN. Drull at the site of Dyno Don's Mav, Bob Glidden's Pinto, Mustang II and Fairmont. Landy, Jinkins, Roy Hill, I can go on and on, well you know. The old days were the best for me. Today, to me, drag racing is a franchise.
I ordered $80.00 worth of books off Amazon tonight.
The site I went to was Georgia Drag Racing.com and ordered from there.
The Factory Lightweights, whether they were Fords, Pontiacs, Olds.. were the best. That's what I enjoy.
    I need a moment.... Ken

I agree. I have never seen as many of the old lightweight Galaxies, T-Bolts and SOHC big blocks in one place, kinda like being in a time warp. The restored Mopars of Sox and Martin and Dick Landy brought back memories too. There was years of historic drag cars in that NASCAR garage., and some historic NASCAR cars as well....

Four and five speed trannys are still used in Nascar and CanAm racing. Only the drag racers have an edge with the auto two and three speed trannys.
