Actually the shipping seems pretty fair. The shipping calculator is quoting me $32.19 to just outside of St. Louis.

I know what you mean. The local spring guy in Cedar City, Utah (50 miles away) wanted $650 for the springs and installation. A polite No Thankyou was in order.

    WOW
That's crazy, but that also includes labor. I wonder what he would have charged for JUST the springs?

Joe from General Springs called me to give me a heads up that he has 3 leaf springs left.....just one set. He thought that maybe one of the guys on this board would want it rather than another customer. I'm not, by any means, pumping General Springs or affiliated with them. I'm passing along the info to all. He was nice enough to give me a heads up....that's all. If you call rather then place an order on the internet....he'll either give free shipping or bushings. I took the bushings. Ask for Joe.

Does anyone know what's going on with the spring supply?

For what it is worth, I got reply from JCW today....

They said the manufacturer is "John R Spring out of Michigan." So, it looks like they are US made as well.... if they ever fill an order apparently ;)

i talked to joe (general spring) yesterday about the shortage of springs and you are correct about the supplier for jcw. what they aren't telling you is they buy their springs from overseas and resell them. don't get me wrong, they are good springs ( have a set on my 71) but they don't make them. joe talked to them yesterday and they are telling him they have no date in the next few months for a firm shipping date. they really have no idea when they will ship out. jcw is telling people springs will ship in a month or two but they are guessing! i suggest getting them as soon as possible from general or chuck. if you wait you could be out of luck for awhile ( or spending ALOT more ).
chucks price is fair and so is the shipping. didn't mean to imply anything.i have bought from him before and he sells first quality stuff. generals price is 99.00 per spring with 21.00 shipping. chuck is 179.00 set with 34.00 shipping. comes out pretty close to each other. it just depends on where they are shipping from and the shipper.. RANDO--- don't wait! buy chucks from ebay. general only has 1 set left as of yesterday.

LOL....that's the message you'll get and what I've been getting since February. I've ordered 3 seperate times since then and they always eventually came back and cancelled my order 2-3 weeks later.
Joe at General Springs will give you free shipping if you ask him. It's about $70 more than JCW.....but at least you'll have a set.

i ordered a set of springs from jcw beginning of april. supposed to ship april 23, then may 4, then may 23. their supplier has no clue when he will be shipping any to anyone. jcw is guessing. buy the ones from chuck on ebay ( see above link) or order the last set from general. if you wait for whitney you could be waiting 2-6 months.
