:bananaman :bananaman finished my heater core job today. it was on my 73' grabber a/c 302. it took about 1 hr. and 15 min. it was not the job i thought it to be. the hardest part was getting started. i heard a lot of nightmare stories and the shop that wanted 185 bucks plus parts. 2 zillion screws, 6 bolts and 3 nuts and it was out. i think that was all...frank...:bananaman :bananaman L.T.N.G.

Frank, that is encouraging to hear, I know installing a heater core was brought up on another thread, and it sounded like a real bear to deal with.

    So, Congrats!!!!(y) :bananaman

Did you have to remove the AC lines?

:bananaman robert, glad the rad. worked out for you. it is always a good time for me to flush the heater core when i have the the rad. unhooked for any reason. if you have to drain the coolant for any reason do it.
yes i had to take the a/c lines loose.(off) i didn't take the box all the way out. it dropped and turned enough to get it apart, clean and put the core in. a good time to go to one of the new a/c coolants. there are a couple out there that are good. i think there is one that you don't have to change the o-rings and stuff. i put the 134 in and didn't change anything....frank...:bananaman L.T.N.G.
