Craig, it is a very basic Marti Report. I don't see it mentioned when it was actually ordered. It states that it was the 134,851st Ford scheduled for production at St. Thomas. Then states "Your car was actually produced on October 27, 1969 - -on schedule. It went to dealer: 15F691 in the Newark Ordering District.
Dan I gotta call you on one of those, the 63.5 galaxie. A 63.5 galaxie had a 64 fastback style roof on a 63 lower body. So the body lines, tailights, headlights, grill, etc... are actually 63. these were actually late run 63s unlike the mav and must that were early runs of the following year.
Yup, the 134851 th one off the line that year. I'll look in some books I have to see how many were coming off the line in a shift.
Craig, do you remember all the September serial number stuff on my 69.5? Just a point of interest for everyone. A lot of times the Feds will mandate certain changes, but as long as you can manufacture your car and/or engine before the changes are due to take effect, you can grandfather all the old cars/engines into the production line. For example... Navistar cranked out a ton of '06 engines before Jan of '07 when all the new emissions crap was supposed to be put on them. So, they're going to sell a lot of technically '06 engines in vehicles with '07 VINs. That'll confuse some people down the road.
69.5 also had the seperate outer horn ring, instead of the horn button being inside the steering wheel.
Wait, so the 69.5s were the only ones w/ the horn rings??? Man, a replacement for the vinyl cover piece on mine is gonna be harrrd to find then, huh? Also, is there any truth to the "small trans-tunnel" on a 69.5??? God -I hope not, I've got a C-4 waiting to go in and now I dunno if it'll fit or not. (came w/ 3-spd manual and 7.5 rear-end). I'm replacing it w/ the 8-inch rear and a C-4, and I don't know if the driveshaft will work, either...??
