You don't think the cam will get there with other parts around it?

I think it will for sure.
It's not a particularly small cam.
Pretty beefy for a flat-hydraulic street cam.
I can't get it to model past 6500 rpm. Falls flat on it's face after that.
However I got it modeled to 480 hp on a 306.
Doesn't mean alot, I know, but it points you in the right direction.

Model that sucker all you want. A 224 degree camshaft in a 302 cubic inch engine won't make 400 hp. Unless your model includes a 100 hp shot of nitrous. :D

BTW with the Windsor Jr's you will run into plug to header clearance issues on most all Maverick headers.

Not sure on the headers that is why I have a set of Windsor Jr's on the shelf and AFR's on my car.

    Which program did you get?
    What doesn't it have.
The one I got came with tons of stock and aftermarket parts already spec'd. All different manufacturers...
Where did you get your program?
Folks ask alot where to find on to d'load, and I don't know what to tell.
It'd be good info for the members.

Also, if there is a specific part that you don't have specs for in the program, you have to seek the info out from catalogs, maker's site, detailed PDF files, and from independent sources like magazines.

AFRs are twice the head as the WPs. Of course they are twice the price too. ;)

also you recommended the victor jr intake but that seems to be a little out of my rpm range at 3500-8000 and that cam is supposed to drop off around 6000-6500 from what ive been told..

Your original post did not state "XE274".
I was referring to the Magnum 274. The XE274 shows a 230 degree intake duration at .050" lift with 236 degrees on the exhaust. THAT camshaft could get you 400 hp. Use the Victor Jr. Don't care what anybody told you about the Victor intake. Use it or you'll be sorry.

so you guys recommend the victor jr and holley 750dp right? ratio do you think you could email your parts folder for engine analyzer? i also found a download for desktop dyno today so im gonna check that out.

edit: another thing is it may not be too late to cancel on the windsor jr heads, i was looking at the afr heads and it looks like the 2.02 valves can cause clearance issues with the pistons?
