Quick Speed

    So ive checked alot of posts and most of them say that top speed is about 100 but then theres people runnin in the 9's on drag times? Whats around the quickest way to upgrade your top speed thats not gonna cost me a few thousand?

    Taller gears might help with top speed (I'm not really sure), but lower gears in the rear end will improve acceleration -- generally speaking.

    Higher gears in the rear end and a 5speed manual.

    I think the best/easiest 5spd swap is the T-5, no idea on cost, you may very well need to junkyard it.

    On www.fordmaverick.com they have an article on how to swap it in.

    first of all what engine are you running? it says you have a v-6. they did not come with a v-6. maybe a 250. the easiest way to speed it up if you have a 250 is to swap it out to a 302. then there are a number of ways to quicken it up. remember the saying though. how fast can you afford to go. speed costs money. :)

    its only a 200 and im about as broke as it gets 400 is about all i can afford atm:cry:

    Just save up for a 302.
