Oil in the distributor!! Why?

    I was coming home in my pick up today and it started to run really bad.Got home and popped the distributor cap off and inside it was full of oil.What would cause this? It's a 1984 f150 with a 302 and a duraspark dist.

    hey derek does the dissy have a vacuum advance pot and or mabye the seal in the dissy is failing and your are getting oil back up the dist shaft and through the seal

    I was thinking a seal in the dizzy also i have another one here i think i'll try and swap it over and see what comes of it.
