Well I got the P275-60-15 drag radials under the car. With carefull backspacing they fit ALMOST! Under cornering (normal, not hard) they rub on the INSIDE of the wheel well. Not the fender lip, but the inside of the well. Is this due to too much body roll? Everything (suspension wise)but the shocks are original 1970 the shocks I installed yesterday are the KYB GR2's. The tires look AWESOME I really want them to work out. Ideas?? Scott
four leaf leaf springs from espo!!!! They worked wonders on the back of my car. Do you have any pictures of the car with the new tires on? -Todd
I do.. Sorry, should have poted in the Tech column. BUT, will new leaves help the rolling from side to side? Or stiffer shocks? I really do NOT want any height in the rear. I will post pics in a bit.,Scott
Well.... I can't answer your questions, but the tires really do look good on there. Good looking car too. Country
Tires Rubbing Check the rear shackle bushings, could be worn out and allowing the body to roll to much to one side. New graphite ones may help, are the rims the correct width for your tires? If to narrow may bulge the sidewalls enough to cause this too. JMO on it.
Old Guy I am using the rim size reccd by centerline. The rest of the suspension is like I said circa 1970. That I think is a good place to start. The chunk is coming out this week for the new locker so maybe some bushing work is in order. Scott
fender lips Has anyone ever rolled the outer fender? Even slightly to establish a strignt line from the molded one on the body? The well tapers down from the body contour and I was talking to the shop that will paint my car and they suggested it. Just need a small amount to give the tires some breathing room. Scott
In August of 1983 when I first bought mine ...I couldn`t wait to get it painted black...I just never got around to it!
15 x 10 wheels with 4 1/2 " b.s. and 275 60 15 tires but I `m also running a 1957 ford 9 inch rearend which I believe is a little narrower than the stock 8 inch was.
