Hey guys, was wondering what would make my tire lose its tread on the inside the outside looks fine and its just on the driver side? Thanks!!!! Tom
Could be an alignment issue, but probably an upper ball-joint that is worn. Causes the tire to be angled instead of even with the road, so you are actually riding on the inside edge of the tire causing increased wear.
It is an alignment issue, we have negative camber on that wheel, most likely worn parts (ie: ball joint) are the culprit. Jack the car up and support the frame with jack stands. While the front wheels are hanging with no load grab the top and bottom of the tire and try to rock it in and out, you should have no movement, if you can feel movement or play you need to locate the part that is moving. I hope this is fairly clear, its harder to explain than to do! Good luck! Dave
