I have a 76 200 engine It has a YF Carb. The throttle plate on this carb has a bend in it. Is this normal? I have no experience with 6 cyl. I am used to working on V-8 Hollys. I am trying to get this thing to idle better. Just rebuilt carb and notice the throttle plate. Thanks Mike
Mike, I'm no expert--so I'll start by saying I don't know the answere to your question...I just hate a seeing a question posted with views but no response. I have a 76 with 250, which is what I assume is in yours, but I've been wrong alot lately. My spacer is flat as it relates to the base of the carb; however, it is offset where it comes out into the vacume pump which is built into the spacer--the offset is still horizontal to the world and is pretty obviously not a "bend" Hopefully someone who knows what they are talking about will get this answered properly. Lou
You need to either straighten the plate out or find another carb and replace the plate. It will not run right with it bent. Just checking is it a 200 or a 250?
Running Great Thanks Guy's I straightened the throttle plate and did some adjusting and it runs great. I wonder how the plate got bent to begin with. O'well Thanks again Mike
