How do i wire the back of the alternator, one is the battery, is the orange hood for the ground? or the smaller black hood? they are both slide on connectors? also we have a yellow wire with white dot that may have been knocked loose from the regulator, does it connect with the radio condensor wire or ? trying to solve because alt light is on in the dash.....

    thanks in advance
    Kevin

Good time to lose that alternator and all the wires, and buy a GM one-wire alternator.

Still lots of wires in there, but only one goes to the alternator...

Just a suggestion. Only paid $40 for it, 63 AMP.

    Looks like English to me

The terminals are labeled on the back of the alternator.
    White/Black wire to S
    Black/Orange wire to B
    Orange/Lt Blue wire to F

The terminals are also labeled on the regulator, diagram says the yellow wire connects to the A terminal of the regulator

The wires were both crimped to the connector at the same time while it is possible to extract the connector and attempt to re-attach it you may consider getting a replacement regulator plug from the auto parts store. Should be available in the Help section or with the wire and specialty connectors for a few bucks. Or you could use a tap connector to re-attach the wire, also available at the parts store or Wal Mart. They look like the ones in the bottom left of the picture on this site.
