We ran an ad in the local salespaper saying we wanted to buy Mavericks and comets. Yesterday a guy called and said he had a 1974 Grabber a 1975 4 door and a wrecked 1973 Mercury. We immediately went to look at them and we found the 2 Mavericks as he stated. We could not find the Mercury. So we went back today to buy them. We found the Mercury. First we loaded up the 4 door and took it to my uncles pasture very easily. We did the same with the Grabber. Then it was time for the Mercury which turned out to be a 1973 4 door comet. There where no keys so we had to beat out the switch to let it steer and get out of gear and then we finally loaded it up. It has been flipped so the body is totaled. We got the 3 for $200. Where the Comet was at there was also an old Volkswagon beetle there that was gave to my dad. This was a very good day.

Good deal! I'm always looking for parts cars myself. By the way, I'm not that far from you JHodges, about 30 miles west over in Fayette county. We'll have to get together some weekend.

then why did you post all the parts cars . DUH
That makes absolutely no sense at all in my opinion
I am starting to wonder about Maverick people. They will have 3 of something and wont turn loose of one. Or they will have a part they know they will never use and wont sell it. But if the do sell it its 3 or 4 times what its worth. on the other hand Mustang and Fairlane guys will either give it to you or trade for something . and if the actually sell it to you its reasonable. and sometimes if the live close enough they even come help you install it. yep Maverick owners are a different breed. I am just building this 74 comet because I got it cheap, its Rust free and my son wanted it. If it was for me . It would be a Mustang Fairlane , Falcon or 60s comet.
