At that power level, you may be alright with a well setup pair of slapper bars. Personally, I think slapper bars/good bushings/and good stock springs are probably fine to 400 horsepower.

......of course, this is assuming that you have good tires and some type of locking differential or spool.

i am currently rebuilding an extra center section with a mini spool and either 3.80 or 4.11 gears.. i have 15x8 rims to put some BFG drag radials on.. probably a 235 60 15 tire.

i have the stock rear leaf springs, that i was thinking of getting rearched.

The time to start adding traction devices is when you have traction problems.

    <-- brainiac :D

Nothing wrong with adding them before you determine you need them. It's just an added cost (if you're on a budget like most of us).

hey braniac.. i have had traction problems ever since i put that 302 in my car.. i think it is because of the 14 x5.5 rims i have on it.. and even with the traction bars i have, i can peg leg it all day long with little to no effort

If you get your caltracs now you will be ahead of the game later.

I don't spend more then I can afford on my car, if you have the pockets for them... go for it.

i have subframe connectors on mine and didn't have any problems, but i guess you could if your connectors are too long. if you don't have either i'd suggest putting the cal-tracs on first and adjusting the connectors.
