hello all my first car was a maverick many years ago. well, last week i bought a little gem of a car, a 1970 Maverick with 118,000 well cared for miles. what a great car. i am having a blast with it and i really appreciate the benifits of having a car that had excellent maintenance performed over the years from the original owners. my plans are to preserve it's originality but i would like to put some RWL BFG Radial T/A's on it. I am going to restore the 4 lug steel wheels with the body color and either keep the hubcaps or get a set of the ford corp 7 1/2 inch caps w/out the trim rings. what is the largest size tire w/out problems rubbing? I am guessing 205/70R 14's? any input? i like 70's over 60's. sincerely, todd petaluma, ca
My 74 has 215-75-14 on stock steels. There is room for a lot bigger tire in the wheelwell but you probably don't want to put anything larger on that size rim.
standard tire rim size? are they 4.5"? i knew they were skinny...i am thinking 205 70 14's are max, eh? thanks
