Any body running Cal Tracs that have seen any drastic results? Or any results? I have had them on my car a year, but through a series of long stories, I haven't been able to compare the 60 foot times with my slapper bar times.

At first I couldn't see that big of a change, but once I started playing with them things started to improve.

First I didn't do what was told to me by John Calvert, (drill hole in my front shocks) second I put the bar in the bottom hole (john said the top only) and then I started to adjust them them one way and then the other.

    I went from a 1.45-1.49 sixty to a 1.36-1.41 sixty

All you have to do is find the right combo for your car.

    I love my caltracs.:burnout:

My car was going left the first couple of runs down the track. I put more pre-load on the left side and it straightened the car up.

Again, I don't have a lot of data to provide, but I was doing 1.5X 60's without spinning (as far as I could tell) on 9" slicks and T-brake.

What do you mean by drilling a hole on you front shocks? I have 90/10's on it now. Sounds like the Cal Tracs helped.

I go 1.3-1.4 regular on M/T drag radials, Really to fully use and understand these bars you need to four wheel scale the car, Twist on the bar and watch what happens, You may not believe what 1 turn can do to the weight bias.

I do have four wheel scales, I will see what they do. The car left perfectly straight with the slapper bars.

I run a 4 speed, so launching can be tough. Finally last year I had enuff travel in the cal tracs for when I left the line at an idle, then gave it hell the cal tracs went bang and the car would launch with no wheel spin. I forget the 60' times but they were greatly improved and I shaved an entire second off the 8th mile time. Only took me 30 years to figure how to drag race my car. lol

Steve, I also have 90/10's and that was what John Calvert told me to do.
Drill a hole and let all the oil or gas out of my front shock!

No way, I was going to do that. He also told me NOT to put the bar in the lower hole, but that's when I started seeing improvement and then I just kept working with them until I got the best out of them. 1.34 sixty has been the cars best.

Now I understand, you DIDN'T do what he said and got better results. Well I am going to get my wheelwell clearance problems solved this week one way or the other. I really do not want to modify my fender wells, I think new leaf springs and I am going to either reposition the holes in the spring perches 1/4 inch, or just install new perches where it is centered.

I figured that split mon-leaf would be "the cat's meow" (whatever that means). A great concept.

I am buying a pair of springs next week, 298.00 seems very fair.

seems to me you gotta lotta money tied up back there... 4 link and coilovers are better and cheaper. mono springs are not the cats meow, i have read several articles that label them as a disaster waiting to happen. just an opinion, mind you.

Can you provide any links referring to the "disaster waiting to happen?" That's the first I've heard.

Calvert Racing's site touts "Calvert Racing has provided 2-piece spring used by the last 5 World Champions in Stock Eliminator". I have a tendency to believe him but am interested in opposing views describing why they are unsafe (i.e., has somebody crashed or other, because of these?).

    Thanks.
