I know this has been discussed before, and I did do several searches. I was wondering if anyone had any pictures the leaf spring relocate process and result.
I was running slapper bars with 9.00 X 29.5 slicks and no wheel well problems. I switched to Cal Tracs and the whole rear end shifted to the left, 3/8 to 1/2 inch. I tried moving everything over, I even moved the leaf springs from side to side, it doesn't make any sense. Can't move the front of the springs over, they are centered by the Cal Trac brackets, and the back bushing didn't change. Everything but the rear appears to be centered. Now with the roll cage in the car sits it lower with the extra weight, and the problem is worse. Could relocate spring perches on the rear I guess. 'Bout ready to take the Cal Tracs off and put the 100.00 slapper bars back on that gave me a 1.44 60ft. to start. OR ..... just move leaf springs inboard and gain serious tire clearance, narrow my rear and be done with it. Any pictures would be greatly appreciated.

    Steve, nothing should have moved.

As a matter of fact you should now have more room with the caltracs then the slappers.

I run 28X10.5X15's with the fender lip removed and only the top part of it removed. I was thinKing about do a mini tub, but unless you have a car that has more then 600 RWH you should be fine.

I would go back and see why you now have such a big off set, did you change the springs or the spring perches?

This could be why you haven't seen a big change in your traction.

    As always just my .02

I didn't change anything except install the Cal Tracs. And I cannot see where that would do it but it has. I haven't really had an opportunity to check 60 foot time, it might be better but no written proof (i.e. timeslip). Went with my boss once when he rented the strip at Vegas for a test and tune, they couldn't provide 60 foot times for some reason. Went to Speedworld, had bad gas and car was running so bad that I couldn't really use the times. Went back to Speedworld and master cylinder let go at the tree on the first run. SOOO, now I am ready to try again and the slicks are hitting the fender. Do you have a picture of what your fender well looks like after you modified it?

Almost 20 years ago I put a 9" under one of my Mavericks, in the driveway, and dark, but when I was done, the rear end was moved over a couple of inches. The rear shackles were bent into a "Z" shape. I still don't know what we did (I had "help") Replaced the rear shackles, everything lined up, and I still have no clue what was wrong to begin with? The shackles were not bent before we torqued everthing down. The housing was a 57-59 Ford car.
