I have been seeing a number of posts concerning wheel fitment and the use of wheel spacers, as much as 1.5 inches. Obviously longer wheel studs are needed to do this. Are these wheel studs of a larger diameter or made of a harder/more durable material:huh: I would think you are severly comprimising the strength of this connection if this is not being addressed. This leads me to this question. My plan (dream?) is for a mid 10 second Mav :drive: and I am wondering if wheel spacers are legal for NHRA/IHRA competition on a 10.50 or faster car:hmmm: Also any thoughts on the safety/integrity of the stock MII suspension at 120-130mph.

Going that fast that quickly, I wouldn't risk it with any type of spacer... Just get wheels that fit right in the first place.

Most wheel spacers that thick bolt to your stock studs and have another set of studs on them. However I don't think any wheel spacers will pass tech at a sanctioned event.

    spacers a no-no. ;)

New England drag way will not allow any type of spacer on a car approaching that speed. If you have a particular style of wheel that you want and it doesn't come in a configuration that meets your needs- have it custom made... I have this done regularly, its REALLY not as expensive as you think.
Check out: Stockton Wheel Co ...just yahoo or google it. They have hooked me up many times with custom offsets/sizes/patterns, etc etc.

I dont think there is a issue with stock musII on your car, not heavy so brakes should stop you, the suspension parts will be ok as long as you aren't Lentech wheel stander!

Honestly, nobody should use a wheel spacer, unless they dont like their quarterpanels and like to see them nice wheels pass them!

I agree: as long as you're going primarily in a straight line at that speed and are not asking it to stand up to repeated landings from wheel stands, it should be OK.

Get a set of cheap steelies for race day, no spacers at the track at any event that I know of will pass tech.

The owner is Frank Muro. He is a friend & car guy. Harley is his fabracator. Their stuff is good and they make them to your specs.

    Their website: http://www.stocktonwheel.com/

I have their wheels on my Maverick and Ranchero.

Go to: http://www.stocktonwheel.com/orderform.htm and there is a guide to figuring out the spacing needed.

Not sure if this will help, but ask for Frank or send him an E-mail and say that I refered you to him.
