A special forum for just the C4s seems to be missing. A place for folks to get and give help with their Maverick and Comet automatic transmissions. We might even get a thread going on what it takes to make these trannys take the high hp that some of our cars are running.
Sounds good to me. Many of us, myself included, don't know or have never done any transmission work, so any info would be helpful, the right vs the wrong way to do things, how to stregthen them, etc. Could be a sub-forum under tech.
I don't know that I would be any busier but it would be a lot easier to find and give advice on Trannys - especially if we keep it mostly C4s or break it into sub forums to cover the big three that we see in the Maverick and Comet cars. (C4, AOD, and E4OD) Maybe just C4 and "Other trannys" because there isn't a lot of information out there on the E4OD and it isn't used much. The AOD is being used more because it is strong enough for mid range 302 buildups and it will fit in our cars. The C4 is still the strongest tranny for our cars, being capable of taking 1000 hp and more. We can get more people educated on them and keep an archive of modifications that are known to work.
I think it should pertain to all transmissions, not just automatics. Could be very useful to those wishing to convert their car from automatic to 3,4, or 5 speeds, too.
All transmissionscould work if they are somehow separated so the information could be easily found. I would be open to moderating the forum.
