    Didn't someone do a "how to" on this?:huh: I searched but didn't find it. Not sure if I want to tackle this but I probably will.:yup:

    I've found it easier and not much more expensive to replace the entire upper control arm. You can buy them complete with upper bushings and shaft and ball joint installed. If you search around they can be found for less than $100. Might as well check out the spring perches too as they are usually worn out by now if original.

    Aftermarket A-arm assemblies are $75 each at C.J. PonyParts. OEM A-arm assemblies are $150 each...

    Frank I haven't sourced the parts yet, however I read another Thread discussion about this that I believe Mavowar made a good point about making sure you use MOOG parts which will last longer. Sounded like the way to go. Keep me posted on how your removal & inspection goes.

    I got mine at cj`s for 71 stang they fit fine. And I`ll get a pic of a tool I have that the ford techs used back in the day to do it. A guy in PA started repoping it it works pretty good for upper arm replacement.

    CJ pony has the shaft/bushing kit $44.95...ca6347a :yup:

    check and make sure this is the correct part...

    They may use moog parts in thier kits. Inspect your arms after disassembly. YOu may need new a arms. Look for striped center bushing holes........

    this is the ...spring compressor... i used today.
    this is a pic. of the parts to be ...replaced/ glass beaded and painted.
    i got the upper control arm shaft and bushing kit today. (NAPA in stock).$28 each side.
    also the ball joints. (3 bolt)$16 each side.

    I try and only use Moog suspension parts if I can, sometimes they get expensive, but I think their worth it. I'll call my supplier tomorrow and price it all out.
