hey guys, well we got back last night from another amazing show at silver springs. the weather could not have been more perfect. a balmy 75-80 degrees both days. we had a total of 15 mavericks and comets this year and i must say the quality keeps going up. the front row of cars is all forum members and the back row was all CAMEO members. (they got there late) as i post the pics i will tell who's car is whose and who ended up winning. keep reading the big guy in the first pic is dana's (hottie 2) dad fred. they just finished the blue flames (seen in pic 4 ) before turkey rod run and are still trying to find just the right wheels to compliment that hot paint.
these are a couple of group of group shots. the orange comet belongs to chip from CAMEO. the red and black comet is for sale if anyone is interested. $6500 very good deal.
all the cars pictures in this group except the blue and white sprint belong to the CAMEO club members. they are all top notch. then we have dennis with his beautiful sprint. nice cars
AND YOUR WINNERS ARE:bananaman KEN (PART-TIME) FOR BEST IN CLASS. SECOND YEAR IN A ROW FOR THIS GORGEOUS YELLOW MAVERICK. AND NOT TO BE OUTDONE WAS NEWCOMER BRITTNEY MURPHY WINNING THE MUSTANG AND FORD YOUNG PEOPLES AWARD. AWARDED TO THE BEST CAR FOR ANYONE UNDER 25. for those who don't know of brittney she was seen on this forum posing in front of her gold and black comet that she and her dad (tim) built. she was also a featured pictoral in i think mustangs and ford mag. unfortunately brittney could not make the show this year due to the fact that she was carrying a perfect attendance record all thru school and could not take the time to come to the show. next year, after she graduates she will have no excuses.her father tim gladly brought her car down for her and we had a good time getting to know about him and his family. CONGRATULATIONS KEN AND BRITTNEY. the first blue car belongs to richard ( not sure of his screen name) very well done car. we were figuring him to give ken a run for his money. maybe next year.
this is a collection of different things. there is a field shot, the black car started out as a 34 sedan and won best of show. that thing was beyond well done.the red car was as over the top as a falcon can get and when he turned the key i think the giraffes wet themselves. this show had some of the most beautiful and out of this world flame jobs i have ever seen. this car has an amazing flame job but there were several better. if anyone is interested in seeing more pics just holla and i will get them up. the final pic is the best. the 3 prettiest daughters any dad could ask for. the tall one is ken's youngest(ashley) and the other two are my 10 and 11 year old.(tessa 11 and becca 10) makes a dad proud. the shirts ny girls are wearing were christmas presents from ken's daughters to mine. making friends like this is what this hobby should be about!!!! well enough for now. if more pics are wanted just holla
found a few pics of the winners with their awards. also ken and i on the way to the show. last a few of the flame jobs. there were 1050 cars in the field this year.
That makes me sick. My wife couldnt have waited another week to make that trip to FL...we got back last Sunday. I was in Ocala too! Looks like there was a nice turnout. Maybe next year I'll be there.
Hey Jason, thanks for posting some pictures, the more the better. It was another great year at Silver Springs with great looking cars. It was great to see you and Ken again, and to finally meet Dennis aka Mavaholic for the first time in person (great guy). I"ll be looking forward to next year. Congrats Ken.
Great pics...thanks for sharing. You can bet, I'll be there next year. I hate I missed this year but had a little too much going on. Thanks again.
Thanks for the pictures and the recognition Jason. It was a good show. Met some old friends and made some new ones. Can't wait till next year. Ken
