They look like Vega tail lights to me as well.

Believe it or not, I followed a Vega home from the store Friday so I got a good look at the tail lights and those are indeed Vega tail lights. When you get it home, look at the lenses. There should be the GM stamp and part number on them. Coming from someone in the autobody biz, the car does look like it's been pieced together, but that doesn,t mean it's a bad project car. Whatever the case may be, it looks like you got yourself a good car to start out with. Like others have said, when you get it home look it over real good and take plenty of pictures and post them with any questions you may have. We are all here to help out a fellow Maverick owner as much as possible. Congrats on your new Mav and keep us posted.:)

Indeed, that is a Grabber with cobbled Vega tailights. I knew it the instant I saw the photo. Sorry if that seems "negative", but sometimes the truth is negative.

Even if this were some sort of special edition, who in their right marketing mind name a performance edition of anything "Molly"?

Well all speculation about the car will be put to rest tomorrow...I drive 1200 miles round trip to pick it up.
Im expecting the worst and hoping for the best...The owner assures me I want be disappointed.
The tailights are indeed Vega...the panel Im not sure about..I thought a Maverick was much wider than a Vega across the back.
Again...I'll find out tomorrow...this entire restoration...from pick up to finish will be photo documented...I'll post some when I get back home...which is Charleston South Carolina.
I'll try to get some posted on my return...if I can figure out how to do that.:p
    Thx, Rick

Good luck with your car, we will all help in any way we can, please tell the last owner he dosen't know his ass from a hole in the ground and you can tell him I said so!

By the looks of it, you will need to take your time and not get in a hurry, everything will work out!

Your already one step ahead of the game, you've found the BEST place to get any Maverick/Comet answers.

As always just my 02 on the seller, but I'm right this time!
