does the hood have the 2 small scoops on each side? there would also be a stripe down the bottom of the door. but those can be reproduced so you cant be too sure. there is a vin code, dont know it off the top of my head, im sure someone else would have it

Not sure about a 73 but my 72 grabber has 93 in the Vin and Sprint has a 91 (Standard 2 door Mav). I know some one here can tell you or you can just do a Web search on Decoding a Ford Maverick and it will take you right to it.
    Thanks

Only the 71 and 72 cars came with the scooped Grabber hood from the factory.

if you have a 93 in the vin it is a grabber. 73 did not come with the hood scoops.:)

Grabber was just decals on any year but 71-72...
So it doesn't much matter IMO.
Even 71-72 was no performance increase, but at least you get some nifty appearance parts.

The 3rd and 4th numbers in the VIN of all '71-'75 Grabbers will be 93. Example 1K93F would be a '71 Grabber built at Kansas City Plant with a 302. 91 is a standard 2 door Maverick. Sprints have a 91 VIN code, and are identified by an "RB" Trim code. 2K91T could either be a 1972 Sprint with a 200 or a standard '72 Maverick with a 200. The trim code is what defines it. I've got all this stuff memorized.
