Is there a certain way to tell if a car is a grabber car. The car that im trying to sell might be but i dont know. can you tell by the vin or certain markings, its a 1973 my hood kinda looks like the hood on some of the grabber pics but im not for sure. please anyhelp would be great thanks alot ray
does the hood have the 2 small scoops on each side? there would also be a stripe down the bottom of the door. but those can be reproduced so you cant be too sure. there is a vin code, dont know it off the top of my head, im sure someone else would have it
Not sure about a 73 but my 72 grabber has 93 in the Vin and Sprint has a 91 (Standard 2 door Mav). I know some one here can tell you or you can just do a Web search on Decoding a Ford Maverick and it will take you right to it. Thanks Jerryfow2
Here you go, you can decode your vin using this site. http://home.comcast.net/~petebre/maverick/decode/index.html
Grabber was just decals on any year but 71-72... So it doesn't much matter IMO. Even 71-72 was no performance increase, but at least you get some nifty appearance parts. Dave
The 3rd and 4th numbers in the VIN of all '71-'75 Grabbers will be 93. Example 1K93F would be a '71 Grabber built at Kansas City Plant with a 302. 91 is a standard 2 door Maverick. Sprints have a 91 VIN code, and are identified by an "RB" Trim code. 2K91T could either be a 1972 Sprint with a 200 or a standard '72 Maverick with a 200. The trim code is what defines it. I've got all this stuff memorized.
