After a two month delay, we are making some progress on the newest 77' Maverick in our stable. The bodywork is done and the car is in primer. I'm a little rusty with my painting skills, so I decided to get back in practice by painting the engine compartment today. I'm going to need the practice because one of these fine old days I will be painting the rest of the car. It was bit of a challange since we have no plans to pull the engine out, but it turned out pretty nice. I will admit, I did cheat a little. I decided not to paint the back firewall. The paint back there is in really good shape with no rust or scratches, and with the engine still in the car it was next to impossible to mask everything off very well back there. Thankfully the paint we have is a dead on match, so one would have to really look to tell the rear firewall has not been repainted. The red paint on the Stallion we had was the same color as this Maverick, and we had some leftover paint. That went in the engine compartment. I have no idea when the rest of the car will be painted. We need to get a paying job in here before this car gets finished. I'm hoping by Spring the car will be done and back in service again after 15 long years.
Very, very nice Jean. How's the man of the house? Sorry, I've been covered up at work and haven't kept up much with what's been going on here.
