I just joined the community yesterday and have already received valuable inputs from a couple of members. Thank-you. I was wondering if anyone has converted a six cylinder Grabber to the 5-lug wheel configuration and what the approxiamte cost of doing so would be? Thanks for sharing your experiences. Bob
Thanks for the info. Sounds like I'm better off staying with thefactory V8's and changing out the interior, than buying one for its interior and swapping the running gear. Can't seem to find any factory bucket seats.
I converted my '72 to 5 lug, took two days. You need a 5 lug rear end from any Maverick or Comet, and at least 5 lug front backing plates and drums. Or you can do front disc brakes at the same time. I will soon be converting my '69 1/2 Maverick to 5 lug with front power discs.
welcome...cost depends on how you go about it....if you buy all new stuff or junk yard shop/donor car. I am in the process of doing this now. I have a rear that is a gift/trade. Converting to disc in the front. Replacing upper & lower control arms, steering linkage. and bushings, leaf springs etc. etc. will be new.
I raced an Austin Healy 100-4 a long time ago that really really wears you out some of the new ammenitys are nice to have to keep you from wearing out too fast
Also a 5 lug rear end from a Granada or Monarch will also work. I found one from a 1979 Monarch in a junk yard for $90.
