In 1972 was there a Maverick had with a 250 6 cylinder and 5 lug suspension?

My wife owns a late '72 with a 250" 6 and hers has 4 lug wheels...
Any reason for this? Some were with and others without?

I have also owned several 1972 Mavericks with a 250....and none of them were a 5-lug. I would say they were all 4-lug as well. Only the V-8's got 5-lugs in 1972.

Maybe it had something to do with which plant it was built at...

How do you identify heavy duty suspension?

It would be on your Marti Report, original invoice or sticker price or 999 letter. As far as I know HD suspension was 3-leaf on 2-doors and 4-leaf on 4-doors ...

I always thought that the 250 air condition cars came with the 5 lug.

I would agree with Dan in that it was probably part of the HD suspension option which could probably be ordered on any car regardless of engine.

According to the VIN and information Neal put on his application when he joined the Maverick Comet Club International, Inc. his car was originally a 200 6 cyl car. Maybe somebody changed it to 5-lugs before he bought it?
