I picked up the Comet today...I had to wait 40 days, my neighbor passed away and it takes 40 days before the estate can sell the car. Its in my driveway now not the neighbors! It's a 302 automatic w/air, it also has a am/fm stereo so it has speakers in the front kick panels. The paint and top are shot but there isn't any rust. Any guess what a completely stock 1975 comet will pull in the 1/4 mile? I will race "Slow Comet" next wednesday at Sacramento raceway. Any other Comet/Mavericks owners in the area that want to go to the drags?
Here is a picture of the car.

Nice car! Looks like you have a great starting point there.

Cool looking car, although I gotta crack up at the color combos they used in those days. Red and white exterior with a tan interior. Never see that today!

BTW, check everthing before running at the track. The car prolly hasn't seen much hard use. I guess 17.4.

Let's run it like a baby pool. Everybody guess a time!

The engine runs real smooth, the car has 63,300 miles and has never been beat on. Ya the color combo is weard, but I will keep it the stock color. I like the outside color but the tan interior is ugly...unfortunately it will stay, the bucket seats are dirty but not ripped and the same with the rear seats and headliner.

    A 17.4 in the 1/4 I was thinking about a 18+

By all means, keep the colors the same. That's part of what makes these cars so unique.

I saw a Maverick on the road years ago that was a mixture of grabber blue, olive and white, all on the exterior. It looked like pizza vomit...LOL:clap:
