Bring it down to my work... we can do a three-fer!!!!

We will be doing a 72 Torino for SEMA next year, it will be getting a 4 speed with a GearVendors Under/Overdrive unit, therefore making it an 8 speed car!

Maybe we can do it as a How To story and get him some publicity?

No rush for me, I still have lots of parts to find and buy.

Maybe... but I'm not sure if he needs much more publicity... he's already booked halfway through 2008!

I personally don't mind a manual in traffic. I always feel like I have much better control of what the car is doing driving a stick. Plus you can prolong the life of your brakes by down shifting. Hell, my dad put over 600,000 on his old '84 Mustang GT, which was a 302/T5 car, and has put over 200,000 on his current '95 GT. I gotta feeling it's going to be another high miler.

I think I would have to tell my boss we converted the Torino to look like a Maverick... so what do you say we go ahead and get the engine and trans mounted up!

On a serious note. Is that going to be getting one of the TCI controllers and paddle shifters like the Plymouth GTX he built? Cuz that would be killer with 8speeds!

Unfortunately no... but I am happy that somebody knows one of the cars... it almost makes me feel proud, despite the fact that I didnt get to work on it....

On a side note with that; if you can believe it... that car was denied by Mopar for their Mopar Alley at SEMA this year... but Steve ain't said, he still has 7 cars going to SEMA!!!

Know one of the cars...shoot I know about all of them. Hammer was my favorite, that son of a gun just looks freakin mean! It was cool to see it at the end of Tokyo Drift lined up against the imports! I really like what Steve does. He's alittle different from the rest in that he does more of a Euro feel to his cars. Alot of builders are just about big hoop billet wheels stuck under the sheet metal. I think Steve's cars are alittle more functional as well. Tell him I said hello and Im a big fan.(y) IM hoping that the GTXR was denied because its been to SEMA before and not because the folks at Mopar didnt like it!

Thats cool, I will tell him that you are a big fan. I still haven't seen Tokyo Drift, but it came out yesterday, and we recently installed a TV and DVD player in the shop, so you can be sure it wll be on! haha

I am not sure of the reason why GTXR was denied, but its not exactly depressing because Hammer wll be there, George Poteet's Charger (NASCAR inspired Charger, with Ray Barton 472 Hemi, Keislyer 5 speed), Challenger X (1972 Dodge Challenger), and Skully, which is a 66 Charger.... (AND for you less informed people, all of these cars can be seen on the website : purevisiondesign.com)

O ya, and of course you can't foget the Z/28 Nova, which is also on the site, and the Petrol Charger, which as in the last issue of Hot Rod (October I believe) or petrolcharger.com!!!

Sorry if my additions to this thread upset anybody...

I vote 5 speed. In that car it would be worth the extra effort IMO Better fuel economy/less wear and tear on motor. I wish I would have done it on mine years ago.....
