Hello Gramps 1951! My first car was a 1973 Yellow and White (upside down lemon merangue pie......least that is what my girl friend at the time called it!) It was a 302 V8 and was built somewhat or perhaps all in Canada. That car was more of a jewel than I ever really knew and I wish I still had her. I unfortunately totaled her one rainy night in 1976. I saved three of the wheel caps but that is all I have left of my first car. I miss my first ride! My brother had a 66 stingray at the time and I never really appreciated my car the way I should have........the green eyed monster I guess!
Welcome aboard Gramps (I love it when somebody makes me feel young). Good luck in your search. We'll help you any way we can!
Crushed? Your reply has me wondering if my car was crushed or refurbished. It'll take a miracle to find out but it would be amazing to find out that she is still rolling somewhere! Several years ago a member of this or a similar Maverick board sent me a picture of an identical Grabber that he had converted to a convertible and later sadly put out of it's misery in Maverick Heaven. When I wrecked mine there was considerable smashing of the rear and drivers side back quarter panel. The high back bucket seats were also removed from the car just prior to the car being picked up by the insurance company. I to this day don't know exactly who the pirate was who did that. I live in eastern NC. I saw from my earlier post a couple of years ago I had indicated it had been wrecked in 78. My post today said 1976 but it was 78. All this feels pretty futile but who knows?
