Actually theres 2 people on the board doing that already ATOmonkey and L50Watts. You better have some bank when you start messing with those DOHC Modular engines! They are more expensive than import engines:yikes: .

I guess it's a good thing your not building a 67-69 Camaro or you would really be having trouble figuring out what to do that hasnt been done.:D

I've got something totally original in mind for mine. Most already know about the engine swap. Then there is the suspension, body, and interior mods. Let's just say it will be custom!:yup:

I'll quote a band probably none of y'all have heard.

"they say it's all been done before, C'mon lets do it all again" - New Bomb Turks

Even if you rip something off it will still have your fingerprints on it somewhere.

what about doing your mav like an old Trans Am racer, that would be neat too. Just be original take a couple of ideas here and there and then you're done,I suggest mix&match method.

Actually...Thomas Hackman has done the exhaust mod your talking about,,,with different tips. Notice the bumper no longer has the "cut out" for the tag.

Ok here's 2 ideas that I have mentioned before but to my knowledge have not been attempted:

    1. Maverick/Comet Limosine - would probably require two 4-door cars to make one with an 18 inch stretch.

    2. Maverick/Comet with a 6.8L Triton V-10. This would be a bitch to do but the wow factor may be worth it.

These ideas have been floating around in my little head for years.

PM me and tell me what things your into, you know like styles of build, different kinda of cars, wheels etc. and I'll see if I can sketch you something up when I get some free time.

Like someone else said it's a good idea to have something to work toward before you start. Like having a rendering to look at. That way you can see it in 2D and its always there to reflect on. Helps keep you focused and on track when building.
It's also a good idea to flip through different car mags and find things you like (wheels, paintjobs, body mods, even different cars), clip them out and paste them in a notebook or something. Then you have yourself an Idea book to refer to and not have to flip through hundreds of pages of car magazines when you get ready to design.

One Idea I had was to lay the headlights down at an angle like a mercedes or neon, it'd take some doing, but I wonder how it would look. Also thought about frenching the head
lights, Or a partial cover. another Idea I had was to give it an Austin Martin like no not an elongated Dragon fLy treatment, I mean set the headlights back then re shape the fenders. I'm not a body man so I don't know how feasible it is, But enough money can do just about anything. It seems

I got Dibs on this one;) .. Got the idea from the rare Pony interior on Mustangs.
Someday... White or Very Light Grey Leather or Naughahiede (SP), Embossed into the back seat on the upper portion, a Comet streaking across the backseat. Repeated in the headrests on the front seats, On the backseat piping would separate that area from the rest of the seat and base, The rest of the seat would have the same factory treatment the cloth seats had in the '75 4 door I had in highschool. I don't think it is tuck and roll but it is kinda like that, not sure what it is called though. Anyway it would be all One color except maybe the piping in blue.

The car will be painted the Colbalt blue color they put on Ranger pick ups last year, not sure what they call it. I think I'll be putting the white halo top back on.
I'll have Halebopp on the lower corners of the front fenders, in the same script as the Comet logo, in white

Would like to ad a Gt hood scoop and make it functional.
Plan to keep the 6 and go with a 3 carb set up and dual exaust with headers.

I think I'll slide the (big) front bumper back about 3 or 4 inches de chrome and paint to match the body. Same with the rear bumper. I'll black out the grill. I'll Put an Understated pedestal spoiler on back. Like a mustang,
I'd like to give it a modest drop all the way around to make it level,
I might go with Stock rims ( Black )with wider tires, (same all around) possibly with chrome lugs. I also like the Cobra R Wheels on Comavs to.

Someday thats the Plan I hope to realize, Rememebr you heard it here first

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
    Thanks Everyone for the ideas:bowdown:

Forgot to mention i'm jobless:rofl2: so those 30K cars will have to wait

And i also forgot to mention i'm merely looking for little differences...i dont want to swap out the 289 until it goes bad, and i alredy have a body as straight as an arrow and i dont want to cut it up:)

PS: i have an idea i want to do, but it will require removing the sill panel, so i'm waiting to get another mav to do that....i hope by that time someone else hasnt done it:16suspect;)

Thank you, i'll have to take you up on that offer(y)
