460 going in a 81 chevy c-10 ....the chevy died ( go figure) lol so to keep the old truck running i'll put some good iron in it!!!!
Too cool! I always said if I ever hit the lottery I'm going to buy a 63-67 Vette and stuff Ford running gear in it. I would love to see the expressions on their faces!!
I always wanted to put a 302 in a 69 discomachine ( Camaro ) so when people ask whats in it I can honestly say a 302 , then when they want to see it .............voila !
Weren't those gm products heavy though? Would a 302 be enough to push that thing??? I know it sure would look like it was lost in that engine bay. hmmm?? -Todd
oooowee shes in!!!!!! baby, she purrrs! i had an old ford 9" rear laying around with 3.89 gear set. i didnt want to keep the stock GM rear in it and i had to change the tranny so it has a 460 with a 4speed toploader. didnt take that long once i got it up on the lift. dropped on a set of 50 series flowmasters and shes done.laid a nice set of black marks accidentally in front of a cop. (not used to the power in that old truck...that sick 305 never done that!!! ok bye for now...will get pics up soon just to brag over chevy people.
It reminds me...... Last year at the Muscle Car Nationals here in Louisville, there was a 71 Camaro that had a 351W stuffed inside it! The liscence plate read: "when I grow-up, I want to be a mustang". That car stirred more comotion then any other car there. All the chevy boys where saying..."I cannot beleive someone would do that!" It was great!
i understand i'm just tired of all the people that spend well over 100k in a 34 ford roadster and go with the cheapest of cheap chevy engine! why? i guess i would kinda understand if it was a budget build and he had it lying around but keep ford in ford! thats awesome about the camaro!!! i actually had a guy say to me at a car show.... hey man i'm a die hard chevrolet fan..i know everything there is to know about chevy and i know every single car perfectly!!! and by the way...thats a beautiful camaro!!!! (in udder dis-belief) i wanted to smack him and say can't you read the fenders chevy boy!!!it says MAVERICK. you dont know that much!! lol just to funny
Idunno. Chevy engine parts are plentiful and I think that it's traditional hot-rodding to put a different brand engine in one. Back in the '50s, guys used to put Oldsmobile engines in their hot-rod Fords (they kicked major ass too). But I also prefer to keep it all Ford. I REALLY like the idea of a Ford engine in a Chevy because you just don't see that very often...
na, the old camaro's were offered with anything from straight 6's to small block v8's. a 302 would look right at home, especially with those powered by ford valve covers!!
